Who We Are & Why We Serve
Fatima Jamal Memorial Welfare Organization (FJMEMORIAL) is a registered welfare organization with the Government of Sindh, working to support vulnerable communities through direct humanitarian assistance, advocacy, awareness, and community-based resilience.
Born From a Personal Promise
Fatima Jamal Memorial Welfare Organization was born from a deeply personal commitment — a promise made by Founder & President Huma Jamal to keep alive the spirit of compassion, selfless service, and continuous charity associated with her beloved mother, Fatima Jamal.
What started as localized acts of kindness in neighborhoods facing severe distress has systematically grown into a recognized non-profit organization serving thousands of underserved households across Karachi and broader Sindh.
From the unprecedented lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic to the devastating flash floods of 2022, FJMEMORIAL stood on the frontlines delivering emergency food, clean water, medical packs, and temporary shelter. Today, our focus extends from crisis relief into long-term human empowerment: creating livelihoods, restoring dignity, and championing environmental sustainability.
Huma Jamal • Founder & President
"We may not be able to solve every challenge at once, but we can always choose to make a tangible difference where we can. With transparency and compassion, every contribution entrusted to us is used with sincere purpose."
Our Vision
"A just, equitable, and sustainable Pakistan where every person lives with dignity, equal opportunities, better health, and a flourishing environment."
Our Mission
"To uplift vulnerable communities in Pakistan by providing direct humanitarian support, health awareness, women’s empowerment, educational opportunities, and environmental action — while fostering transparent and meaningful charitable giving through Sadqa-e-Jaria and Zakat-eligible initiatives."
Looking Ahead: 2026–2027 Priorities
As outlined in our official Annual Impact Report, our strategic roadmap focuses on 7 concrete milestones:
Develop more structured, recurring monthly sponsorships for orphaned children and female-headed households across Sindh.
Scale up distribution of sewing machines, micro-business stalls, and tailoring skill training to empower women as independent breadwinners.
Increase the frequency of free medical checkup camps, expand emergency medication funds, and host specialized women's health clinics.
Launch clean water hand pump installations and advance upcoming community masjid construction and rehabilitation projects where needed most.
Expand the "Grey to Green" movement by mobilizing educational institutions, volunteers, and youths to plant native shade-giving trees.
Formalize the Youth Council as an active, empowering platform for university volunteers, activists, and young professionals in nation-building.
Reinforce digital beneficiary record-keeping, photo-documented project verification, and detailed annual financial stewardship reports.
